| Note: This list records all auction sales so far identified of paintings by Frederick Ferdinand Schafer. The list is in order first under the name of the auction house, and then by the date of the sale, recent sales first. As with dealers, the names of auction houses are alphabetized by the first letter or word of the advertised house name. Thus C. G. Sloan is alphabetized under the letter "C", not the letter "S". Note that some San Francisco addresses given here pre-date the 1906 earthquake and fire. In most instances, a catalog for the sale provides some data (title, size, medium, and inscriptions) about the painting or paintings offered. See also a second list, ordered by date, of just Primary painting sales, those for which the seller or consigner was the artist himself.
