Description: | (The photograph is very light; Mount Shasta is not visible!) A steep hillside on the left gives way to a trail in the center along a wide river on the right. On a point across the river is a forest consisting of several isolated conifers. At the center foreground to the right of the trail is a fallen snag pointing out over the river; behind it are a small evergreen tree boulders at the water's edge. To the left of the trail the foreground hillside is criss-crossed with several down snags; beyond that five tall conifers stand surrounded by boulders and slhouetted against the sky. A very steep, rocky cliff rises to a point at the left edge of the painting. (From a monochrome photograph.) |
Note: | The composition is quite similar to that of Mount Shasta, California [4]. |
