| Description: | View up a rapid-strewn river valley toward a white snow-covered mountain. The dark lower right triangle of the painting is a forest; there are smaller mountains with traces of snow colored pink by the setting sun in the middle and on the left; the sun, off the canvas to the right, bathes a cliff higher on the left with a coral color. Forest clutter consists of snags on both banks, another on a rock hanging over river, and a white rock farther up on left bank. (From the painting, 9 December 1989.) |
