Description: | View of a river valley with the river at the left, forest filling a slope up to the right, and a small patch of blue-grey sky in the upper left. A figure wearing a white brimmed hat stands in the water pulling on a pole, while a second figure on the bank, wearing a red shirt, watches. In the middle distance four cows stand on the riverbank. There is a lot of forest clutter--snags in the foreground and lying on right bank, other dead trees standing above the cows and on the right bank; bright yellow brush. There is a marked contrast between the very bright center and the distant, dark green forests. (From a color photograph.) |
