Description: | A dirt road leads past a birch tree whose bright white trunk dominates the left foreground above a grassy wildflower-strewn slope; behind the tree the forest is brown. The road continues through a grassy clearing dotted with wildflowers, past two boulders on the left, over a small rise, then over a second more distant rise on which stand three cows, silhouetted against a wide, green river valley below. Beyond the valley stands a greyish-brown low mountain range under a cloudy sky. The right foreground corner is filled with foliage from another, smaller tree. (From a color photograph.) |
Note: | The painting is said to have been cleaned and lined circa 1980. |
Identification: | Assigned, descriptive title. The provenance comes from a note on the back of the photograph. |
