A figure wearing a white brimmed hat stands in the water pulling on a pole, while a second figure on the bank, wearing a red shirt, watches. In the middle distance four cows stand on the riverbank. There is a lot of forest clutter--snags in the foreground and lying on right bank, other dead trees standing above the cows and on the right bank; bright yellow brush.
