| Description: | A path leads to a chalet in the lower right dark triangle surrounded by trees. In the background, a rounded rock mountain drops into a lake at the left edge. There are two boulders in the foreground at the lake edge (one with a dead branch atop), and several trees surrounding the chalet. The sky is cloudy. (From a monochrome photograph in the sale catalog.) |
| Note: | In a (probably accidental) break with its usual practice, the sale catalog reports the size only as "51 x 91.5", without specifying units. Interpreting the size in inches would make this the largest Schafer painting reported, while interpreting the size in centimeters yields a common Schafer canvas size, so it seems safe to assume the reported dimension is metric. |
