| Description: | A tall narrow painting.  A large tree with gnarled branches and exposed roots fills the entire right side.  A stream flows around its base on the left; a dead tree falls over the stream. There is much forest clutter--dead branches and trees--in the lower half.  A steep, narrow peak appears in the hazy distance at the top left.  (From a monochrome photograph.) |
