A second (probably) German artist who signs "F. SCHAFER"

An oil painting said to have been purchased in Germany in the 1960s bears the recto inscription "F.SCHAFER / MUNCHEN / 1922" in a hand quite different from that of Frederick F. Schafer, whose latest known painting dates to 1911 and is not known to have ever worked in Munich. The subject, style, palette, and composition are also quite different. Nothing has been discovered about this F. Schäfer.
