Description: A sharply-peaked mountain stands in the center with a bright snowcap, and pinkish lower reaches, against a bright blue sky with coral wisps of cloud. The mountain's base is lost in haze, below which is a range of cliffs with pink edges. The view is looking down a dark valley to the right with a river below and a forest on the far bank. The lower left triangle consists of bright brush and grass with colorful wildflowers; a dead tree across a rock leads the eye in the general direction of the mountain peak. The sun, unseen on the right, catches the tops of the trees at the left. Two of the trees are tall enough to stand above the horizon. (From a color photograph.)
Identification: The Early California and Western Art Research slide is from the Wortsman Stewart Galleries, Inc. offering and the photo by William K. Dick is from the Garzoli Gallery offering.
