| Description: | The cloud-patched sky is almost indistinguishable from the snow-patched mountain peak which rises above a wide, green valley floor, with a grey-brown gradual ridge on the right. A group of Indians on horseback are entering the valley, headed toward an encampment consisting of four white tepees and a campfire on the far side. Tall conifers on the left reach to the sky against the background of a high ridge in the middle distance. Forest continues along the left side of the valley, beyond and around to the right. A nearby tall dead tree stands alone on the right, just touching the sky while an isolated grove of six conifers stands on the near side of the valley. (From a monochrome photograph.) |
