Description: A bright, colorful, broadly painted scene. A fisherman sits on a rock on the right bank of a stream flowing from center to left front. Tall trees line the stream on both sides; a dead tree falls over the stream behind the fisherman. On the right are brown and green sparse, tall trees with brush and clutter below. On the left, dense forest. In the background a high slope lies behind the trees, and a cloudy blue sky appears at the very top. (From a color photograph.)
Identification: Descriptive title of unknown origin, from the William K. Dick photograph, which identifies the Garzoli offering. The Early California and Western Art Research index identifies the slide with both the Garzoli and the Maxwell Galleries, Ltd. offerings and gives the size as approximately 18 x 14 inches.
