Site: A view looking East up the Yosemite Valley, California, with the Merced river in the middle and the Royal Arches rock formation on the left.
Description: Two small figures stand on the edge of the Merced River looking across at the rocky bluff named Royal Arches. Both sides of the river are lined with broadleaf shrubbery behind which stands tall conifer forests. At the right stand two tall snags, silhouetted against a background rocky cliff. Note: In fall, 2000, an image of this painting was posted on the World-Wide Web site that displays the collection of Edan Milton Hughes (1935–2015) using the title "Yosemite Valley". It was simultaneously offered for sale by california-art.com using the Hughes inventory number and title.
