| Description: | Across the top, a white snow-covered ridge stands against a blue sky with a few white clouds. In front on the right is a brownish ridge with pockets of snow, climbing to the right. In front on the left is a reddish-brown ridge with some snow and brownish trees. In the foreground a stream runs from left center to front center through a gently sloping valley. Evergeen trees are sparse, quite a few are dead. Higher up the valley slope on the right the trees become more dense and taller; two penetrate the sky. Along the right bank, four sawn logs are stranded; a white-trunked dead tree lies above them amidst white wild flowers. (From a color photograph.) |
